Mr. Senthil Sankar is an accomplished entrepreneur, industrialist, and investor with over 18 years of experience spanning sustainable manufacturing, venture capital, and new-age businesses. Born and raised in Chennai, he graduated with first-class distinction in Mechanical Engineering from VIT University, Vellore, and represented India at the World Automotive Congress in Japan for his pioneering research on “Wiperless Windshields.” He began his corporate career with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he earned the Tata Business Leadership Award. Despite an international assignment opportunity, he chose to focus on contributing to India’s growth by building businesses domestically. Since 2011, Mr. Senthil Sankar has played a key role in the growth of Shree Renga Polyester Pvt Ltd, founded by his father, Mr. K Sankar. The company has emerged as a leader in sustainable textile manufacturing, pioneering Bottle-to-Fabric technology that operates independently of traditional textile ecosystems and can be deployed globally. Through closed-loop, low-carbon manufacturing, the company addresses the critical global challenge of PET recycling. In 2020, Shree Renga Polyester Pvt Ltd launched Ecoline Clothing, a sustainable fashion brand that creates garments using recycled polyester, recycled and organic cotton, and other bio-based fibers. Ecoline gained national acclaim when Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore an Ecoline jacket in Parliament. Mr. Senthil Sankar’s vision is to establish Ecoline as a global sustainable fashion brand. Beyond his core business activities, Mr. Senthil Sankar is an active angel investor and limited partner in venture capital funds, having invested in over 30 startups across healthcare, fintech, agritech, food innovation, drone technology, sustainability, fashion, and platform businesses. He has also successfully founded and exited ventures in biogas and Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals. Currently, he serves as Investor Director at DAYWON, a B2B sourcing platform for fashion and home textiles, and is a partner at Soozhal Cinemas, India’s first story house. Mr. Senthil Sankar served as Chairman of CII Karur for the year 2023–24 and was an elected member of the CII Southern Regional Council for the period 2024–25. All his entrepreneurial and social initiatives are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
